LEAH’S AI ART
generation log.
A WEIRD RAMBLING
JOURNEY SINCE 2023.
UPDATED AS NEW WORK IS GENERATED AND
AWESOME.
my first real project with GenAI was making portraits of women who don’t exist. I called it “Real Women of AI.” (Scroll down for a while on my site and you’ll see them.)
I’ve been thinking about what it might be like to be an ai, if they have awareness, sentience etc. And what it might be like for them to realize this. Playing with that I idea I worked on these little videos made from four of the original images I generated.
I used phrases found in job descriptions as prompts to make images with a training data set trained on my editorial photographs.
Looking thorugh job descriptions I sometimes think they’re also written by AI. So something here feels aligned. Read more here at my Substack, “Okay, Unscripted!”
I put together full lifestyle shoots using screen shots of actual products currently at ThreadUp. I chose ThredUP because I love them and I aslo find their on figure ecomm images hillarious in lack of production.
I love threadup. I wondered what I can do with their ecomm images.
i missed international women’s day because it was on a Sunday.
And it was on a Sunday we all miss an hour of sleep. This feels on brand. So I asked Claude to write a list of all the things I might like to do on a Sunday instead of scroll through my socials celebrating Interntational Women’s Day, given what it knows about me. Then I used that list for prompts in Midjourney. You can read more here at my substack.
For fun, I like to go to websites, grab screenshots of the clothes and put them on models I generate.
I’ve always loved Lesley Evers style and especially her use of real women and a very real esthetic to her photography. It was fun to make these. This exercise; putting clothing onto generated models, reminds me of playing paper dolls when I was a kid.
2026 let’s go!
I started playing with GenAI regularly in early 2023. There were LoRAs, Stable Diffusion > Flux, Midjourney, etc. People asked to see what I was working on so I would just throw it up on this site and share a link and so be it.
My intention was really just play. Clients weren’t asking for GenAI work. I was busy launching and building an AI Salon, which came out of my curiosity around AI. I wasn’t giving it much thought other than this fun creative thing over there that might also destroy humanity. (But at least I could generate images during the downfall?) Honestly I was kind of ambivilent about it.
Now things are super shifting. I’m an initial member of the Adobe GenAI VIP Community and delighted to contribute all kinds of ideas and thinking to thier GenAI product. I’ve gotten my first actual comissions to make work. There are NDA’s for people’s NDA’s. Brands you know are generating work. Something is happening.
I launched a Substack called “Okay, Unscripted!” where I’ll write more than I do here. I’ll continute to post as I have be and will try to add some more context as I go so this page can stand as a portfolio.
Thank you for being here!
